Diamant Rouge: The Historical Heart of the Village, Grounded in Respect and Diversity

The Rebirth of a Montreal Institution

Located at 1681 Sainte-Catherine Street East, the Diamant Rouge is more than just a bar—it is an institution in the heart of the Village. This famous male nude dancers bar, historic within Montreal's gay community, has evolved under various iconic names. Initially known simply as Le 1681, it also operated as Bar L'Adonis, Cabaret JP, Le Lux, and Cabaret Expose, deeply marking the history of Montreal’s nightlife.

Today, following an acquisition by a new quartet in May 2025 and a complete refresh, the Diamant Rouge has unveiled a new look and direction, firmly rooted in strong ethical and community values.

Our Values: Consent, Respect, and Inclusivity

Our mission is clear: to create a safe, welcoming environment that celebrates the community’s diversity. Our foundation rests on:

  1. Consent: Absolute priority is given to the integrity and comfort of every client, employee, and our artists-dancers.

  2. Respect: An unconditional welcome for all, with the utmost respect for all identities and preferences.

  3. Inclusivity: The belief that diversity is a strength, and that everyone should feel at home.

Programming that Celebrates Diversity

Diamant Rouge is actively committed to diversity and inclusion. Our programming reflects this commitment:

We are proud to maintain our iconic Trans Wednesdays, a dedicated evening where the artists and dancers are predominantly trans. Furthermore, to serve and celebrate all segments of our gay and broader community, we aim to introduce new events soon, including themed nights like Bear and Chaser.

Diamant Rouge is your destination for spectacular performances, a warm atmosphere, and the certainty of being in a space where respect is the first rule.

Come discover the new Diamant Rouge: history is being written, and you are part of it.
